The Canandaigua boys lacrosse team broke out with 19
goals and cruised to a 19-4 win over Victor on Saturday night.
Thirteen different players registered points
for the Braves, who improved to 4-0 on the season.
Brian Sheetz led the way with three goals and two
assists. Andrew Knoblauch and Connor Henderson each had two goals and four
assists while Austin Rogers, Marshall Johnson, and Deven Alves all scored a pair
in the win.
“To have 19 goals and 17 assists
in one game is truly great for us,” said coach Ed Mulheron. “We did very well on
the faceoff and it allowed us to score often.”
Canandaigua jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the opening quarter.
Victor got goals from four different players — Tom
Rogemosser, Alex Rogemosser, Frank Valenti and Vince Pettrone.
Scott Bement made seven saves in three quarters of play
for CA and Anthony DeLeo had three saves in the final
quarter.
Kevin Donnely and Cody Bennett
combined for eight saves for Victor (3-2).
CA will be in action again on
Tuesday against Fairport.
